Hutchinson & Partners are pleased to announce that our Silk Park project, designed in collaboration with Makower Architects, has been shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival in the Residential Future Projects category.
The project, undertaken on behalf of St George and Sainsbury’s Property Investments, gained detailed planning approval in 2020; providing 1309 mixed-tenure dwellings, a new supermarket with elevated gardens above, arranged in twelve buildings around a large central park. Located in Hendon on a site adjacent to the A5, the proposals contribute to the aspirations of Barnet, Brent, Harrow and TFL to reimagine this historic route into London as a pedestrian-friendly urban boulevard and green residential corridor that seeks to augment and connect the surrounding green network, notably through the revitalisation of the Silk Stream and its tributaries.
The first phase of the project is due to be completed by November 2024, with full completion by 2029.
The winner will be announced at the World Architecture Festival on the 1st-3rd of December 2021. Details of the other shortlisted projects and the judging panel, can be found using the following link.
