The RIBA work experience programme aims to support young people from a range of underrepresented backgrounds in state schools to achieve their career ambitions. We supported the initiative for a number of years and are proud to continue this collaboration.
Hutchinson & Partners recently took part in the RIBA Work Experience scheme with Mariam Chablani coming to work with us for an enjoyable week in a break from her studies at Harrow, Richmond & Uxbridge College. Mariam undertook a design study project in the local area, learning how to research the site, creating a brief and design concept. At the end of the week, she presented back to the office, partly to hone presentation skills, but primarily to show off her good work. It was a pleasure to host Mariam and we wish her all the best for her future.
The RIBA work experience programme aims to support young people from a range of underrepresented backgrounds in state schools to achieve their career ambitions. Mariam is the second person we’ve supported in the RIBA initiative spearheaded by Ash Goyal. Work experience for school and university students forms an important part of our practice’s outreach programme. In recent years our programme has seen us visit schools, join local groups and support charities.
