Principal Director

Ross founded Hutchinson & Partners in October 2017. As the Principal Director, Ross oversees the direction and design of all projects and is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the practice.

In addition to practice, Ross has been a member of the London Borough of Wandsworth’s Design Review Panel since 2014 and a member of the London Borough of Redbridge’s Design Review Panel since 2019.

Prior to establishing Hutchinson & Partners, Ross was the Founding Director of UNIT Architects which he established in 2007. Under his direction, over a 10 year period, UNIT Architects became a practice of increasing renown, working for a portfolio of highly acclaimed Clients across a diverse range of scales and sectors. In addition to managing the practice Ross was responsible for directing the design of the practice’s key projects including both of the £200m major mixed use regeneration projects Whitechapel Square in Tower Hamlets, Chapel Square in Ilford, The Reichstag Visitors Centre, Canterbury Crescent, Colindale Gardens, Hendon Waterside and Upton Village.

Prior to establishing UNIT Architects, from 2000 to 2007 Ross worked for his former Bartlett tutors Simon Allford and Paul Monaghan at Allford Hall Monaghan Morris. Whilst at AHMM, Ross worked on a wide range of high profile and award winning projects which included a new-build private house in St. Johns Wood; offices in Camden; the first phase of the Barbican refurbishment; a hotel and residential development in Birmingham as well as Barking Central, the key first phase of the multi-award winning regeneration of Barking’s Town Centre.
