Rachel Braude

MA (Hons), MArch

Architect

Rachel joined Hutchinson and Partners’ Berlin office in January 2020, having previously gained experience at practices in Berlin, Amsterdam and London, where she worked on a wide range of projects in commercial, residential, civic and transport sectors, as well as in exhibition design.

Prior to moving to Berlin in 2018, Rachel graduated with distinction from her Masters at the University of Edinburgh. Her group thesis project was nominated for the AJ Student Prize 2018. Rachel’s two-year design thesis, set in Havana, Cuba, addressed concerns of economy, insularity and flux, together with the historic relationship between land and sea. It engaged with the economy of tourism as it feeds into the reconstruction of the city. The two-year design studio allowed her to engage with the full breadth of her architectural and graphic design interests – from in-depth site research, through to urban-scale and detailed building design, culminating in a series of printed publications and the design and fabrication of a public exhibition.
