Lynsey Hogarth

MA (Hons), MArch

Architectural Assistant Part II

Lynsey joined Hutchinson and Partners in July 2020, having worked for WilkinsonEyre and Ryder Architecture during her part 1 studies. She gained previous experience on residential, interior, commercial and heritage projects in London and the North East.

Lynsey graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Bath in 2019, where she developed her interests regarding the impact of social change and technological advance on rich and complex sites, often within existing fabric. She was awarded the Bristol Society of Architects Prize for her final design thesis: ‘Crafted from Nature’, a project exploring the intrinsic relationship between architecture and time. It questioned ideas of legacy and the incomplete within contemporary architecture, through the rigorous manifestation of details across a post-industrialised site. Her third year studio work was based in Berlin with the design of an experimental theatre, based on ideas developed from the tectonic proliferation of memory within cities. She furthered this interest during her final year, culminating in her undergraduate research essay, which explored the political and social ideologies relating to Halbach’s theory of collective memory, through a series of case studies in Berlin, Paris and Norway.
