Ladbroke Grove Planning Submission

Hutchinson & Partners have recently submitted a planning application to the Royal London Borough of Kensington & Chelsea for a major mixed-use regeneration project. The masterplan, led by FaulknerBrowns, will deliver a vibrant new neighbourhood within the Kensal Canalside Opportunity Area at the intersection of Ladbroke Grove and the Grand Union Canal.

Working in collaboration with Maccreanor Lavington Architects on the first phase of Ballymore and Sainsbury’s Project Flourish masterplan, H&P’s detailed application includes the provision of 947 new homes as well as retail, commercial, community, and leisure facilities.

The placemaking led scheme will replace the disused gasworks and the existing Sainsbury’s store that has reached the end of its lifespan, as well as the extensive existing car park and petrol station. The proposals will provide over 2,500 new homes set within a new public realm designed by Spacehub, with improved connectivity through the site including provisions for pedestrian bridges over the adjacent railway and canal.
