Teodora Petrova

BSc (Hons) MArch, ARB

Architect

Teodora joined Hutchinson and Partners in May 2019 having previously worked at Pollard Thomas Edwards for 5 years. Her focus at PTE was on medium to large scale mixed-use schemes and on Third Age housing. Teodora has worked on a number of projects across London and in Essex, including Juniper House – a residential tower in Walthamstow and Beechwood West – a custom-built, CLT modular housing scheme in Basildon.  She has well-rounded experience in both pre-planning and construction phases and has worked with a variety of clients including local authorities, charities and private developers.

Teodora completed her architectural studies in the Welsh School of Architecture at Cardiff University in 2011. She was awarded a Distinction for her thesis work ‘Urban Geode: A Perfume Sanctuary’ which aimed to create an introverted ‘island’ nested in one of London’s busiest and most restless districts – Soho. The design was informed by exploration of powerful contrasts including busyness–peace, noise–silence, apathy–sense, roughness–refinement. It was inspired by the sculpturally carved walls of the Scottish castles, the concept of the ‘hidden garden’ and the Bulgarian enclosed monastic communities. Teodora attended a Part 3 course in UCL and qualified as a registered architect in 2016.
