Melissa joined Hutchinson & Partners in August 2019, having just recently completed her Part 1 in Architecture from the University of Bath.
Having graduated from Bath with a First-Class honors degree her final year project explored the way in which architecture can challenge the rising issues of our disconnection in the commodities we buy; particularly clothes. The scheme re-invents a new retail typology that reconnects us to the essence of dressmaking and becomes a place where fashion designers, garment makers and buyers are brought together in an orchestrated harmony. Other projects that Melissa has worked on include: a performance arts center in Berlin, a bridge proposal in London and a sports therapy spa in Bath. Melissa also spent 7 months at Wilkinson Eyre in 2017 and worked on high profile projects such as Battersea Power Station, Crossrail and HS2. She has also had some of her visual work featured on the RIBA J and Architects Journal.
Her particular interests include retail design, urban environments and interiors.
