Jen joined Hutchinson and Partners in November 2019, following the completion of her Masters degree at the University of Sheffield.
At Sheffield, Jen was part of the MArch:Collaborative Practice course so in fifth year, whilst based in London, she split her time between working in practice and her academic studies. She was attracted to the course for its alternative approach to architectural education, and values the idea that practice based work could become live content for academic learning.
Her 6th year allowed her to experiment across the full breadth of her architectural and artistic interests- from broader theoretical ideas, to more specific physical studies with materiality and tectonic logic, explored through an enthusiasm for model making. Her thesis project combined these in a proposal which challenged the commodification of heritage in the city of Venice, culminating in the design for a new auction house.
Prior to Hutchinson and Partners, Jen worked for one year at Hogarth Architects on variety of small scale residential projects in London, and for one year at Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios on the design for a new build primary school in Southwark.
