Important milestone for the Silkstream development, delivered by St George, as it officially opened its doors to the brand new Sainsbury’s store in Hendon today, just in time for a busy festive season.

This state-of-the-art 43,000 sq ft sales supermarket, is part of a 1300 home development being delivered by the developer, the store forms part of phase 01a along with 3 residential blocks. Hutchinson & Partners gained planning in 2020 for the first phase of the mixed-use scheme in Hendon, which will comprise 770 mixed tenure homes across 9 buildings set amongst raised courtyard gardens.

Along with Phase 2, designed by Makower Architects, the scheme will deliver 1309 new homes in total and a new public park, designed by Murdoch Wickham as well as the opening up of the historic Silk Stream which runs along the edge of the site. 35% of the new homes will be affordable housing.
