The 22nd April is International Mother Earth Day, a day that is dedicated to highlighting the urgent need for climate action; and a day that presents an opportunity for us to all think about how we can make the world a more sustainable place to live. Our role as Architects gives us the opportunity to be able to help shape and improve the world around us. As the built environment contributes some 40% of the UK’s carbon emissions, we must ensure that we embrace this role with the upmost responsibility.

In addition to the work and research we are undertaking as a practice, we understand that small individual changes can also make a big impact. In response to 2022’s ‘Invest in Our Planet’ theme, each member of our team has committed to an individual climate pledge. We are sharing our pledges, holding ourselves accountable and challenging others to join us in the UN’s ActNow campaign, which calls for individual action on climate change and sustainability.
