The Hutchinson & Partners sustainability team joined the global climate strike in both our London and Berlin. Our message was clear, and that is to say that we believe in a more sustainable future that is based on care, consideration and knowledge. The global climate strike took place in Parliament Square, London and Platz der Republik, Berlin respectively with the aim being to show that the climate matters deeply to us, and that we need the political parties to confront this reality.
It is our firm belief that, as designers, as professionals and as valued members of the property industry as a whole, we have the will, knowledge and determination to move towards a more considered and sustainable future. However, we also acknowledge that, despite our knowledge and shared understanding, the industry leaders alone cannot solve the crisis, and that legislation is needed to ensure that the rest of the industry follows our lead and example.
The sustainability team members that attended in Berlin were Jörn Rabach, Director of the Berlin Office, Rachel Braude and Undine Kimmel, whilst the team from London, were James Bazeley, the Director of Sustainability, Maria Ramos, the practice Sustainability Champion, and Teodora Petrova.
